Encourage
Encourage your kids, purchase a few inexpensive cards and a book of stamps. Send a card or short
note to your kids. They love to get mail and to receive encouragement from their parents.

Hugs
Life is so short. Hug your kids and tell them everyday that you love them. Sometimes we get so
busy we forget and the only words kids seem to hear from us are complaints. Last year, my twelve
year old fell unconscious at my feet in cardiac arrest. Thankfully she was revived, but it shows you
how fragile life is and how quickly the opportunity to say I love you can be gone.

Not only almost losing my precious 12 year old grand daughter having an impact on my life and
teaching me to treasure the little things like sunsets, bird song, blue skies, soft rain, babies laughing
or just sitting and hanging out with my grand children, but going through a serious illness of my
own and facing my own death has left a lasting impact. As a family, we now take every
opportunity to say I love you and we don't let the little things stress us any more, we realize how
precious our time together and our life is. I hope you will also take the time to watch a sunset or
say I love you, no matter what you go through each day. Blessings!
